News

Dear All,

I have word that there will be regular residential, heavy trash, and curbside recycling services this week.  Monday, February 16th, (Presidents’ Day) is not a solid waste holiday.  The next scheduled solid waste holiday (barring any weather events) will be on Memorial Day, which is May 25th.  So make sure you put your trash out on your normal day this week.

Many of you have asked for an update on the Eagle Creek Greenway trail.  While most of your neighborhoods are not next to where it will be going, I do know that many of you drive on Dandy Trail, 38th Street, or Eagle Creek Parkway.  Below is what I heard back on an update.  I will continue to ask for updates on this project as it progresses and will keep you informed so you will know if there are any traffic delays or construction in the area.

As always, please feel free to forward this information on to others who may be interested.  I appreciate you helping me keep people informed.

Have a great weekend, keep warm, and don’t get “blown away” by this wind!

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6

Information on Eagle Creek Greenway Trail:

Good afternoon, Councillor McHenry,

I have spoken to the construction project manager for the first phase of Eagle Creek trail regarding an update to the project. She advises that residents can expect to see the utility marking and staking you’ve mentioned both this week and next, along with protective fences around trees. The clearing of right of way will begin next week with crews removing brush and overgrowth from the construction area. After this, construction can move forward as weather permits

I hope this answers your questions and gives you a few talking points for your residents. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Have a great weekend,
Benjamin Easley
