Saturday after Thanksgiving Clean-up

Dear All,

Come Saturday morning the turkey may not all be gone, but he is probably not the only one who was stuffed!  Want to work off some of those extra calories from the dinner and pumpkin pies?  How about “giving” back to our area by helping with our “Saturday after Thanksgiving Clean-up”?  The area along the Greenway on 56th Street and Reed Road certainly could use some TLC and together we can make “haste” and “spruce” it up before it gets too cold to do so.  The forecast for Saturday is sunny with a high of 48 degrees – so it should be a pleasant morning for our neighborhoods and community to come together and make the area look better.  Details are below:

Saturday after Thanksgiving Clean-up
(Nov. 25th)

9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Meet at the Mayor’s Gardens Parking Lot
(south of 56th Street off Reed Road)

(Trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbers provided)

Hope to see you there!!!!!!

Can’t make it Saturday morning, but would still like to help?  You can do so by taking a small trash bag (or plastic bag from the store) when you go out for a walk, jog, run, walking the dog, etc. and filling it up.  Or grab a friend or neighbor and pick an area to clean up together.  This can be done anytime, and if people would do this on a regular basis the area would stay much cleaner and we may not have a need for so many group cleanups.

Please forward this to others in your neighborhood or our area who may be interested in giving their time on Saturday to help improve the area around our greenway.  The more we have helping the quicker it gets done and the more area we can cover.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6
