At our February 1st Parks Committee Meeting Linda Broadfoot, Parks Director, gave out the attached “Indy Parks Highlights” sheet. There was a lot of information, so I thought I would share. Please pay particular attention to:
1.) Outstanding Agency Award – The parks team was very excited about just returning from the Indiana Park and Recreation Association Conference in which they proudly displayed 3 awards: Outstanding Agency Award, Outstanding Professional for Don Colvin, and Excellence in Resource Improvement for Deer Management at Eagle Creek Park. Read the article for more information.
2.) Project Indy is a Summer Jobs Initiative in which Indy Parks offers more than 400 jobs, which includes lifeguard positions. Know of some youth looking for a job? Have them apply at indy.gov/jobs.
3.) Summer Day Camp registration is open. These camps are at 14 of our parks and offer various types of camps. Go to indyparks.org or call 317-327-7275. Some of these camps fill up fast, so if interested get registered as soon as possible.
4.) Indy Free Tax Prep – this is by appointment only and being offered at 3 different parks. Call 211 for more information.
The information above plus a lot more is on the attachment. Look it over and see some of the things going on throughout Marion County and within our Parks.
