The third annual Flap-Jacks 5K will be held this year on Saturday, August 4th, starting at 8:00 a.m. at Ben Davis High School, located 1200 N. Girls School Road. This event is being held to raise money for the B&O Trail, which will be an extension of the B&O from Hendricks County and eventually connect to other trails, including Speedway. This trail will go through the southern part of our District, eventually connecting neighborhoods, churches, and others by to walk, bike, run, and jog on a trail designed for a non-motorized way of getting around.
The first two 5K’s were huge successes, with lots of runners, sponsors, and donations. Everyone really enjoyed the free Flap-Jacks at the finish! Hopefully this year we will have even more runners, donations, and fun in order to raise even more money to make this trail a reality.
There are lots of prizes – the top three male and top three female as well as age group champs. An individual can register for only $33 until July 23rd (then it goes up to $39), a student for $18, and a Family (2 adults, 2 children) for $74 – each additional child is $12. Remember this money will go for a trail in our District, so money raised will benefit our community. You may register at: http://racemaker.org/event/flap-jacks-5k/ .
See the attached for more information and sponsors. Please do share this information with others who may be interested, especially those you know who enjoy participating in 5K’s.
