Dear All,
Attached is the September calendar for Eagle Creek Park. A lot of terrific nature themed activities for all ages and some special programs for preschool aged children. One thing you won’t want to miss is the “Images of Nature” Art Show that will be taking place at the Earth Discovery Center from September 15th – 30th. The photographs that will be on display have captured the beauty of nature. Always a delight to see what the photographers have caught with a camera. Remember that the park is open on Labor Day, Monday, September 3rd, but the Earth Discovery Center (EDC), Ornithology Center (OC), and Park Office will be closed in observance of the holiday.
I want to take time to thank the many volunteers, staff, and partners who do so much at Eagle Creek Park. Many of these volunteers are residents of District 6. Last weekend was the Summer Party for Volunteers, Park Partners, and Eagle Creek Park Staff. There were 27 volunteers that were recognized for having logged over 100 hours for the year. One volunteer (and she does live in our district!) has logged over 400 hours for the past year! Without all of these folks we would not be able to enjoy the park in the manner that we do. Pictured below is a group photo of many who were in attendance at last week’s party. Thanks again to everyone who helps with Eagle Creek Park!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. The weather should be nice and hopefully many of you will come out to Eagle Creek Park to spend some time and enjoy what nature has to offer there.
