The deadline for voter registration for the May 7th Primary Election is quickly approaching.

Dear All,

The deadline for voter registration for the May 7th Primary Election is quickly approaching.  If you have changed address, name, or have a young adult who is eligible to vote this year and have not registered, you need to do so this week.  April 8th is the deadline for registration, but I would not take a chance on waiting, and would get it done by this Friday.  I have attached the necessary form.  It needs to be sent to:  Marion County Board of Voter Registration;  200 E. Washington Street, W131;  Indianapolis, IN  46204.  Their phone number is:  317-327-5040.

Several of you have asked about voting absentee.  While these do not need to be in until April 29th (must be in their office that day), if  you know that you are going to be voting absentee – don’t wait.  Send in your application right away.  I have attached that form as well.  It needs to be sent to:  Marion County Election Board;  3737 E. Washington Street, Ste. A;  Indianapolis, IN  46201.  Their phone number is 317-327-5100.  When they receive your application they will then send you the ballot for you to fill out and mail back in.

Please do note that the addresses are different for registering to vote and for obtaining an absentee ballot.  Feel free to forward this information to others.  The Voter Registration Form and Absentee Ballot Application are good throughout Indiana and where they need to be mailed for each county is on the attachments as well.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry

City-County Councillor District 6
