“Pack the Parks”

Dear All,

“Pack the Parks” is an annual event in which there are many activities at various parks throughout Marion County that are all free that day, including pools and Eagle Creek Park gate admission and the beach.  This is a great chance to visit some parks that you may not have visited before and also take advantage of the special programs.  I have attached the flyer for Eagle Creek Park’s events for this.  They are having various Family Nature Tours throughout the day – different trails and length of hike.  I have also included the flyer for all the parks, which has listed the Key Events at parks throughout the County.  For a full event list go to park.indy.gov.

Since it will be July before we know it, I have also attached the Eagle Creek Park Calendar for next month.  Please note that the EDC (Earth Discover Center) and OC (Ornithology Center) as well as the Park Office will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day.  Also, on Saturday, July 13th, there is no park access until 11 a.m. due to the Sprint Triathlon.  There are always a lot of various activities going on at Eagle Creek Park, so take a look at what may interest you.  Don’t forget that every Wednesday evening at 6:30 there is music at the marina.  The schedule of who is playing each week is listed on the calendar.

Hope you will be able to enjoy one or more of our Indy Parks for Pack the Parks.  While we have three Indy Parks in our District (Eagle Creek Park, Faculty Park, and Gustafson Park) there are a lot of other Indy Parks nearby as well as parks in Speedway and Clermont.  Get out and discover what our parks have to offer and what meets you and your family’s interests best.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
