“Coffee With A Cop”

Dear All,

The next “Coffee With a Cop” is coming up this Tuesday, July 16th, from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the McDonald’s located 6830 W. 38th Street.  While this is not in District 6, it is basically “right next door”.  This is the McDonald’s west of I – 465 just off the 38th Street exit on the north side of 38th Street.  Let’s really show our Northwest District IMPD how much we appreciate them and having the opportunity to talk in a casual setting.  While many of you may be at work during that time and may not be able to alter your schedule – if you do not have to be at work or have to be at something else that morning, how about stopping by, if only for a few minutes?  Please encourage your friends and neighbors to come as well.  I know that the officers would really appreciate it.  Hope to see many of you there!

It is hard to believe that “National Night Out Against Crime” is less than a month away!  Attached is the registration form from our Northwest District IMPD for “National Night Out Against Crime”.  This year it is on Tuesday, August 6th, and neighborhoods all across the Country will be participating on this same date.  Many of your neighborhoods or blocks have participated in the past and I hope you will do so again this year.  For those of you who have not had a “National Night Out Against Crime” where you live, it is a chance for neighbors to get together in their neighborhoods, get to know one another better, and socialize.  Some of the ideas that have occurred in the past in our district have been pitch-ins, pizza parties, desserts, cookouts, neighborhood walks, etc.  Please do register your event with IMPD and let them know you will be participating.  This lets our officers know where and when the different events will be, then they will do their best to stop in a say “Hello” and introduce themselves.  I hope many of your neighborhoods or even blocks will look over the information and if you have not already started planning, you will do so soon.  Remember to register by July 26th so that IMPD can make plans to visit with you that evening.

Have a great rest of your weekend!  Hope to see many of you on Tuesday at “Coffee With A Cop” and don’t forget to get registered for “National Night Out Against Crime”.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry

City-County Councillor District 6
