“National Night Out Against Crime”

Tuesday evening was “National Night Out Against Crime”.  There were quite a few events going on throughout District 6, and Councillor McHenry and her husband visited six of those events.  Starting out at Windham Lake they were quite impressed with the sign that the neighborhood had for our IMPD officers.

Moving on to Summerfield South they enjoyed their very well organized annual event.

Next was Speedway’s big Town wide event at Leonard Park.  They had many booths and activities set up throughout the park.  Councillor Janice McHenry and a long time dear friend who volunteers for many community events did some catching up as well as had their picture taken.

Next was Parc Estates North, which was well attended with their yearly pizza party for this event.  Councillor McHenry had the chance to chat about some of the things going on in the neighborhood with many of the residents.

Clermont Police Chief Steve Dulworth and Councillor Janice McHenry talk about the evening, and the highlight that was coming up……

which is when the boys and girls take water balloons and the police officers have silly string.  One never knows who really enjoys it the most.

It really is a lot of fun to watch and something that is looked forward to by the children, police officers, and everyone else in attendance.

The last stop of the night was at Sunningdale Commons.  It was a very nice way to end the evening.  A huge thanks goes out to everyone who participated in events and especially to those who did the planning, organizing, and carrying through to make the evening truly successful.  If your neighborhood did not do something this year, hope you will consider it for next year.
