“flip the switch”

Dear All,

Before we know it it will be time for the lighting of the monument downtown.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a child or grandchild from District 6 was the lucky winner of the coloring
contest and had the honor of “flipping the switch”?  As the Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW #481 prepare the lights and get them strung, children can
prepare their entry for the coloring contest.  I have attached an entry and information, you may download it from the link below, and it will be in the Indianapolis Sunday Star (I  also saw it in last Saturday’s Star).  They do need to be received by noon on Monday, November 17th, so there is plenty of time for children to plan how they are going to make their entry the one that will be selected.

Good Luck to all!

This is the 52nd year that this event has taken place.  This year there will be 52 garland strands that will be strung and 52 larger than life decorations.  While the official “flipping of the        switch” will take place the day after Thanksgiving, on November 28, you will be able to enjoy throughout the entire Christmas season.  If you know or see one of the many volunteers from IBEW #481, make sure you say thanks for making this possible.  And if you are one of the members who make sure that this is a reality each year –
a big thanks goes out from me for doing this for all of us.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6
