Chuckholes

Dear All,

With the current freeze/thaw cycle we are experiencing potholes (or chuckholes) are a true menace to our streets and roads.  While they get more numerous each and every day – the only way they are going to be filled is we all help.  No body drives around and writes down these potholes any more (if you remember I did do that when I was on the Council and had friends who helped me), so the only way they can be logged and filled is we all do our part.  Please take time to call the Mayor’s Action Center at 317-327-4622 or use the RequestIndy app on your phone to report them.  You will need an address, and while I know that is hard in some areas around parks, schools, and other large areas of spaces where you don’t see the address – do the best you can.  Let’s keep them busy here on the west side and get our potholes reported.  Don’t think that someone else will report the ones you experience, and it certainly doesn’t matter of lots of people are reporting in the same area.

Currently they are using the cold mix, which doesn’t last as long, but hopefully with a huge need the asphalt plants will open early and they can use the hot patch.  So with the cold patch, don’t be surprised if the same pothole reappears.  Just keep reporting and we can hope for a more permanent solution.

Remember – report those potholes, signs down or in need of replacing, and other issues to the Mayor’s Action Center (MAC) at 317-327-4622 or use the Request Indy app on your phone.  Let’s all work together to make sure our side of town gets the attention we deserve!

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
