You may have heard this on the news already, but wanted to make sure that everyone is aware that starting Friday and through the end of July that I – 65 from where I -65 and I – 465 meet just north of 56th Street to I – 865 is going to be closed in 15 day increments. The northbound closure will start on June 14th and the southbound closure will start July 12th. The detour will be I – 465 to I – 865. If you do travel this way, please take note and allow for the extra time to make the detour. Remember, you will not be able to get on I – 65 in that stretch, so allow for the extra time to use I – 465 and allow for the additional traffic that will be using that route.
Please feel free to forward this information to others who may use I – 65 in this area, and also to those you know who may be traveling north of I – 65 to other destinations. I am sure that those you forward this to will appreciate learning more.
Don’t forget that there are other construction projects going on throughout Marion County on the interstates on the weekends. I don’t get that information until very late in the week, so it is not always easy to send it out in time for you to receive it before it happens. Watch for signage as well as the local news for more information.
