At the first Council Meeting of 2015 certificates were given out to Councillors who had perfect attendance for meetings during 2014.  Pictured here are two of the Councillors who received these Certificates, Councillor Janice McHenry and Councillor Michael McQuillen.  Councillor McHenry has received a certificate every year she has been on the Council (this makes her 7th year for perfect attendance).

December is always so much fun with all the activities going on, especially the ones that involve children.  Councillor McHenry always enjoys helping with the Children’s Christmas Party at the Clermont Lions’ Club.  She is pictured with Santa and his “elves” that helped make this event such a success.

The Northwest IMPD District had “Coffee with a Cop” on President’s Day at McDonald’s.  It was well attended for a snowy,.  This is a great way for residents to talk with those who work hard every day to make our area safer for us.  Those in attendance were able to not only talk about their concerns, but also get to know some of the police officers better.  Sgt. Matthew Grimes and Councillor McHenry are talking with a couple of those in attendance about a neighborhood concernDSC03724

Dear All,

I have word that there will be regular residential, heavy trash, and curbside recycling services this week.  Monday, February 16th, (Presidents’ Day) is not a solid waste holiday.  The next scheduled solid waste holiday (barring any weather events) will be on Memorial Day, which is May 25th.  So make sure you put your trash out on your normal day this week.

Many of you have asked for an update on the Eagle Creek Greenway trail.  While most of your neighborhoods are not next to where it will be going, I do know that many of you drive on Dandy Trail, 38th Street, or Eagle Creek Parkway.  Below is what I heard back on an update.  I will continue to ask for updates on this project as it progresses and will keep you informed so you will know if there are any traffic delays or construction in the area.

As always, please feel free to forward this information on to others who may be interested.  I appreciate you helping me keep people informed.

Have a great weekend, keep warm, and don’t get “blown away” by this wind!

Information on Eagle Creek Greenway Trail:

Good afternoon, Councillor McHenry,

I have spoken to the construction project manager for the first phase of Eagle Creek trail regarding an update to the project. She advises that residents can expect to see the utility marking and staking you’ve mentioned both this week and next, along with protective fences around trees. The clearing of right of way will begin next week with crews removing brush and overgrowth from the construction area. After this, construction can move forward as weather permits

I hope this answers your questions and gives you a few talking points for your residents. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Have a great weekend,
Benjamin Easley

Dear All,

Just wanted everyone in our district to be aware of the next “Coffee with a Cop” in our area.  Please see the message below from Sgt. Matt Grimes.  This is a great opportunity to have a chance to talk with Commander Snyder and many of the other fine men and women who work hard every day to make our area safe and protect us.  Let them know your concerns and suggestions that pertain to the Northwest IMPD District.  Many of you have attended various things that our Northwest IMPD District has put on in the past.  Thanks for coming out.  I hope you will continue to do so.  If you have not been to one of their events, Monday would make a great time to start.  Hope to see many of you there!

Please feel free to share this with others in our area who may not have received this from Sgt. Grimes or me.  You may also print off the flyer and post it.
