Lane Restrictions and Closures for Bridge Deck Overlay on Northwest Corner of Marion County

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP announces lane restrictions on I-465 ramps in the northwest side of Marion County.

Crews will have lane restrictions at the following locations for a bridge deck overlay:

  • I-465 ramp at 15.3 milemarker over Big Eagle Creek will be restricted to a single lane from Friday, July 21, at 7 p.m. through Friday, July 28, at 6 a.m.
  • I-465 NB off ramp to Crawfordsville Rd. will be restricted to a single lane from Friday, July 21, at 7 p.m. through Friday, July 28, at 6 a.m.
  • I-465 NW loop ramp over westbound 86th St. will be closed from Friday, July 21, at 7 p.m. through Monday, July 24, at 6 a.m.

INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

It is time for our 8th Annual Back to School Supply Drive!  Eagle Creek Park has agreed to be our partner again this year in offering us a place to drop off new school supplies that will then be donated to the local schools we have been supporting.  You may drop off new supplies that you have purchased (those displays are out in the stores) to the Eagle Creek Park Office, the Earth Discovery Center, or either one of the gatehouses at Eagle Creek Park.  A flyer is attached with more information as to the times open and supplies needed.  Please be generous in your donations as the need is truly there and the staff at the schools are most appreciative in the fact they have the supplies at school to give to the students who need the items the most.

Feel free to print off the flyer and post it, forward this, and spread the word so we can make this year’s Back to School Supply Drive the most successful yet!  Thanks for all of your help.

Was not sure how many of you received this information about a Neighborhood Watch Information Meeting on Tuesday, July 11th, starting at 6:00 p.m. at St. Gabriel Church located at 6000 W. 34th Street, but wanted to send this out as a reminder.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about preventing crime in your neighborhood.

Dear All,

A great group of volunteers came out in June and really accomplished a lot in both painting and priming the inside, top, and sides of the wall on the causeway.  One day we even had musicians from the Indianapolis Symphony come out and a couple of them took time to play for us as we painted.  However, there is still more to do.  Please see the note below from Ed Locke on the schedule this week.  If you can come out and help on either Wed. or Sat., please let him know.  Also, please feel free to share this information with others.

What better way to fill out the week than some painting on Wed and/or Saturday?

If the weather holds we will try 9:15-11:15 Wed, then 8:45-11 on Saturday. On Wed painting will be at the far end by the bridge but we will stage from the Office lot.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Independence Day!!!!!!

On July 4th, 1776 our Founding Fathers approved the Declaration of Independence and a new nation was founded on freedom.  This is a day where many of us gather with family and friends for parades, cookouts, and fireworks to celebrate our nation’s birthday.  While you are celebrating, please do pause for a moment and think about what happened so long ago in history.  Remember as well all of those who have sacrificed in so many ways from the time of the Revolutionary War until now for our Liberties, so that we may remain a free nation.

Dear All,

If you had trash pickup today, your trash was picked up on schedule; however, the rest of the week will operate on a slide schedule.  So those whose trash should be picked up on Tuesday, it will be picked up on Wednesday; Wednesday will be on Thursday; and so on until Friday’s trash will be picked up on Saturday.  I have also cut and pasted the holiday’s that trash does operate on a slide schedule from DPW’s website:

Please note: Any holiday that falls on a weekend will NOT be observed; therefore, trash will be on a normal schedule.

Dear All,

If you, or someone you know, is looking for a new or better job, here is an opportunity to meet with a variety of companies who are hiring at the annual West Side Chamber/Pike Township Job Fair-Aganza.  This year it will be held on Thursday, July 13th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Pike High School Freshman Center located at 6801 Zionsville Road.  When the flyer was printed there were 43 employers who have signed up to participate.
