There was a lot of excitement in the 5300 block of Lafayette Road on July 26 as the Orthoindy Foundation YMCA broke ground for this new facility in Pike Township. Not only those responsible for this happening, there were also a lot of Community Leaders as well as many residents of Pike Township in attendance. This Y will be unique as it will offer specialized services for Veterans, active military, and their families. Raul Rivas from Pike Township Schools, Susan Blair, President of Pike Township Residents Association, Councillor Janice McHenry, and Dr. Flora Reichanadter, Superintendent of Pike Township Schools had their picture taken after the ceremony.
