Everyone

Dear All,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have all heard of:

today being referred to as “Black Friday”
Saturday as “Small Business Saturday”
Monday is “Cyber Monday”
and Tuesday is “Giving Tuesday”

I would like to encourage you to join me on “Giving Tuesday”, November 27th, to give back to our community and the Eagle Creek Park area by doing a cleanup along 56th Street and Reed Road. We will be meeting in the Mayor’s Garden Parking Lot, just south of 56th Street and east of Reed Road at 3:45 p.m. and working until 5:15 p.m. (after that time it is getting too dark to see). If you cannot join us for the entire time, stop by when you can and help for a half hour or so. Any amount of time really does make a difference. If you stop by after 3:45 and we have already started and not still in the parking lot – I will have gloves, trash bags, and trash grabbers sitting on a chair by my car. I will put my signs on my car to help you find my car. Grab some supplies and join in. With enough hands we can really make a difference in this area. Hope many of you will be able to join us that day.

Can’t make it Tuesday? How about over the weekend helping by selecting an area along a road or in a park and picking up trash for a half hour or so, or going around in your neighborhood and making sure all the storm drains are clear of leaves and debris? I know that we have some wonderful folks in our area who do this on a regular basis now (ever notice how nice the bridges over I – 465 on 46th Street, 34th Street, and 21st Street look as well as the grassy area along Dandy Trail, High School Road around 30th Street, Clermont, and quite a few other places?) Those areas and others are clean because of the neighbors and others taking an interest. Thanks to everyone (wish I knew who you all were) who helps keep our area clean on a regular basis.

So, if you can join us for our “Giving Tuesday Clean Up” it will really help make a difference for our community and area. Please help spread the word by letting others in our area who may not be on my email list know about the Clean Up on Tuesday, November 27th, starting at 3:45 and going until dark and encouraging our friends and neighbors to make our area a cleaner place to live and enjoy.

Hope to see a lot of you on Tuesday!

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6
