Another very successful year for our Annual School Supply Drive. Collecting the supplies at Eagle Creek Park has worked very well. Park Manager Brittany Davis and Councillor Janice McHenry are looking at some of the supplies that are being collected.
The school items then needed to be divided up and boxed for eleven schools that boys and girls from District 6 attend.
Robey – The first school that received some supplies was Robey Elementary. Some students helped by looking through some of the things in the box.
The other schools that received two large boxes of supplies were: Chapelwood Elementary
Chapel Glen Elementary
North Wayne Elementary
Deer Run Elementary
Eagle Creek Elementary
Frank H. Wheeler Elementary
James A. Allison Elementary. Councillor McHenry is pictured here with the Principal, Jay Bedwell. The two of them were both teachers at Mill Creek Elementary School together for several years. Councillor McHenry always enjoys seeing Mr. Bedwell and having a chance to chat when delivering supplies to his school.
Next we have Lew Wallace Elementary #107
Carl Wilde Elementary
And the last one is Clarence Farrington Elementary #61. All of the Principals and staff were very appreciative of all the supplies and expressed how much these are needed not only at the beginning of the school year, but throughout the year as well. A huge thanks goes out to all of those who donated to this annual “Back to School Supply Drive”. Your generosity has helped a lot of students at eleven public schools that serve our district.
