INDIANAPOLIS – (July 15, 2020) – When summer temperatures start to sizzle, cool off with Visit Indiana’s The 20 IN 20 water activities.

“From the south shores of Lake Michigan to the banks of the Ohio River, Indiana is filled with incredible experiences,” said Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch. “Whether you want to relax, or are looking for a challenge, there is something for everyone in the Hoosier State.”

waterCatch a wave on Lake Michigan with Stoke Riders. You can sign up for professional kitesurfing lessons with certified instructors from the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO). While you are in Michigan City, check out the only public operating lighthouse in Indiana. The pier is a favorite spot for fishing and watching sunsets.

If you love the lake life, Patoka Lake in Southern Indiana is the place to play and stay on the water. The second-largest reservoir in the state spans three counties. Patoka Lake Marina offers floating cabins, boat rentals, scenic boat cruises and wine cruises.

One of the best ways to explore nature is to hit the water in a kayak or canoe. At Chain O’ Lakes State Park, take the 9 Lake Challenge, which connects across the park. You can download or pick up a map to guide you. Upon completion, you can get a free sticker or purchase your 9 Lake Challenge merchandise and say, “I PADDLED THE CHAIN.” For a map of great liveries in Indiana, click here.
