Northwest District IMPD has three Community Events during June

Dear All,

Our Northwest District IMPD has three Community Events during June – one for adults and the other two for families and children.  I have listed each with some information below.

First – June 7th (Wednesday) is the monthly Task Force Meeting from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.  This month it will be held at the International Market Place Coalition located 3919 Lafayette Road (Lafayette Square Mall, enter on the west side of the Mall by the Food Court Sign, should see the police cars).  Assistant Chief of Police Randal Taylor will be the speaker – see attached flyer for more information.

Second – June 24th (Saturday) IMPD Northwest is having a Latino Community Day from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at 38th Street and High School Road (In the Plaza Mall – north east corner).  This will not only be IMPD, but also all First Responders.  This is fun for the entire family as there will be police cars, horses, fire trucks, ambulances, free food, and more.  The attached flyer gives more information.

Third – June 28th (Wednesday) is the annual IMPD Youth Bike Safety Rally.  This is geared toward youth from ages 5 – 15, and helps them become more aware of bike safety rules in an entertaining way.  It will be held again this year at the Blended Church located 2215 Country Club Road (just north of 21st Street on the east side of the road).  Children need to bring their bikes, helmet, and a responsible adult.  Please see the attached flyer for more information on this.  It is always a lot of fun for the boys and girls and there are also some great give-a-ways.

Hope to see many of you at one or more of these events.  Please pass this information on to others who may be interested or post the flyers where those who may be interested would see them.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6
