Dear All,
First – I would like to remind everyone that on Saturday, July 1st, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. we will be cleaning up along the greenway on 56th Street and Reed Road as well as doing some weeding and sprucing up around the trees/bushes just north of the Mayor’s Gardens. We will meet in the Mayor’s Gardens Parking Lot. While we realize that many of you may be going out of town or having company for the July 4th Holiday, if you are around or have some time, we would certainly appreciate your help in making this area look better. See below for more information.
Second – Attached is the Eagle Creek Park Calendar for July. There are a lot of things going on at the park next month including reoccurring programs and Concerts on the Point. Want to point out that on July 4th the Earth Discovery Center and the Ornithology Center will be closed. Also, on July 15th there will be no access to the park until 11 a.m. due to the Sprint Triathlon.
Third – On July 8th the Indianapolis Parks Department is having their second annual “Pack the Parks”. On that day many activities at all our parks will be free (swimming at all the pools, the conservatory at Garfield Park, etc.) and there will be special activities at many of the parks. What this means at Eagle Creek Park is that admission will be free after 10 a.m. and the beach will be free from noon – 6 p.m. See the attached flyer for more information about this and also on the July calendar.
Hope many of you will be able to make it to the cleanup as well as be able to visit Eagle Creek Park or one or more of our many other parks soon. Please feel free to forward this information on to others who may be interested.
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6
