Pike YMCA 2017 Heroes Health & Hope 5K Run/Walk

Dear All,

If you travel in the 5300 block of Lafayette Road you have noticed the land has been cleared and ground is being moved around.  On July 26th ground was broken there for the Orthoindy Foundation YMCA.  This is going to be an exciting facility for Pike Township and the west side of Indianapolis.

On November 11th, Veteran’s Day, there is going to be a “Pike YMCA 2017 Heroes Health & Hope 5K Run/Walk” taking place in Eagle Creek Park.  I know many of you enjoy running or walking in 5K’s, and this one is a great way to not only help the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation but also the Pike YMCA Annual Campaign.  Below is information that was provided to me by one of the members of the Pike YMCA Advisory Board about this event.  Please see the attached flyer or go to the link provided for more information and feel free to pass this information on to anyone that you think may be interested.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6

The proceeds from this race go to both the Pike YMCA Annual Campaign and Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation. The funds in the annual campaign help the YMCA provide both memberships and program/services to veterans and their families that can truly be life changing. The donated funds to the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation are earmarked to help Homeless Veterans. These men and women use their gifts, talents, energy to protect our freedoms, and often times return home to be overwhelmed, and overlooked. We love serving them through our programs and look forward to this 5k being another way to honor them, and raise funds to continue the support for veterans.
