Dear All,

Attached is the March Calendar for Eagle Creek Park.  Quite a few things are going on this month.  This coming weekend is the 23rd annual Woodcarvers and Woodturners Exhibit at the Earth Discovery Center.  It is amazing what these folks can do with wood!  Also, the Polar Bear Plunge will be taking place on Saturday to raise money for Special Olympics.  BRRRRRR!  Not sure I would want to get into the icy water, but certainly appreciate those who do this for a very worthwhile cause.  Check out what is going on during the month.  It is a gorgeous drive right now with all the snow and hopefully by the end of the month we will see budding trees and beautiful spring flowers!

I am also coping below the schedule of the meetings for the Indy Parks Comprehensive Plan Meetings to gather public input.  I sent this out last week with more information about these meetings, but I know that quite of few of you did not get it.  For some reason many bounced back as undelivered.  I wanted to make sure everyone did get the meeting places and locations.  The two closest to us are coming up:

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 3rd) from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Krannert Park; 605 S. High School Road &
Next Week (Tuesday, March 10th) from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Pike Township Small Claims office; 5665 Lafayette Road

Hope many of you will be able to make one of those meetings.  If those do not work into your schedule, you are more than welcome to attend any of the other locations.

Every five years Indy Parks updates it comprehensive plan.  This plan is used as a tool to identify the creation and preservation of open spaces, recreation facilities and parks within Marion County, and gives the community a clear sense of Indy Park’s  direction.  Indy Parks along with its sister agency, Department of Public Works will be hosting meetings seeking public participation.  Please feel welcomed to attend.
