It is that time of year again when neighborhoods, churches, and other organizations will be participating in “The Great Indy Cleanup”. As we have done the past several years, I, along with Eagle Creek Park’s manager, have organized cleaning up from the Eagle Creek Park Office west along the causeway on 56th Street to Raceway Road. As this is a long area, a lot of trash gets accumulated along there over time, and it is hard to clean up unless there is a group and we have police officers to calm the traffic. Again this year we are privileged to have a couple of our local police officers to help us with traffic. We will have trash bags, gloves and drinking water at this event, so all we need now is YOU!!!! We would love to have over 50 people show up on Saturday, April 11th, at 9 a.m., at which time you may sign in either at the Park Office on the east side of the reservoir or at the “Bear” on the west side. It would be great to have an idea of how many people we will have show up that day. You may either contact Brittany at Eagle Creek Park (her contact information is on the attached flyer) or reply to me from this email. More information is attached to this email.
I hope that many of you who live in the area will be able to come out that day, but remember you do not have to be a resident along 56th Street to participate. Most of this area (causeway and land on both sides of the causeway, as well as the entire north side of 56th Street) is part of Eagle Creek Park. It is also a major gateway into Marion County that many people drive every day. I hope that many of you will join me in taking pride in this part of the westside of Indianapolis.
Please pass this information on to others who may be interested. I appreciate your help in spreading the word!
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
