Dear All,
With the November 6th election approaching, I have been asked by some of you about voting absentee. Attached is the application for an absentee ballot. There are many reasons that a voter can vote absentee: anyone over the age of 65, those who will not be in town on election day (students attending college, out of town on vacations, business, etc.), if you will be working the polls at another election site, you will be at your regular job during those hours, illness or caring for someone who is ill, etc. The information is on the application.
These applications need to be mailed to the Marion County Election Board. To make it easier than looking through all 92 counties the address is below:
Marion County Election Board
3737 E. Washington Street, Ste A
Indianapolis, IN 46201
The deadline for the Election Board to receive the application is October 29th, but if you know you are going to need to vote absentee I would request one as soon as you can and get it in. If you have any questions you may call the Marion County Election Board at 317-327-5100.
I do hope that this is helpful for those of you who will be voting absentee. Please do share with others who may want an absentee ballot. This application is good throughout Indiana, so it is not just for Marion County residents and each county’s Election Board address is on the second page of the application.
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
City-County Councillor District 6
