Our Wayne Library has a lot of really great programs, but one this month in particular than many of you may find of interest is one that Janice McHenry will be presenting.  It is the “Consumer Protection & Scam Prevention” on Wednesday, November 6th, at 2:30 p.m.  The information taken from their program descriptions below.  Remember, our Wayne Library is located at 198 S. High School Road.  This is a great opportunity to learn about common scams, date privacy, protecting yourself from being a victim, and more.

Age Level: Adults & Seniors 

Join us for a presentation about Consumer Protection and Scam Prevention with the Attorney General’s Office. This session covers common scams, data privacy, and other important topics in consumer protection.

 

Age Level: Preschoolers, Families

Families and children of all ages are invited to join us for stories, songs, and so much more fun every Monday! After each storytime there will be a playtime session for those that wish to stay longer!

 

Alphabet Art- with Jeremy South of Ripple Mobile Arts

Age Level: Preschoolers, Families

Boost your preschooler’s imagination and letter knowledge through an engaging art project!

 

Play with Patterns- with WFYI & PBS Kids

Age Level: Preschoolers, Families

Join an interactive preschool program that introduces children to patterns through stories, music, games, and more! Explore math skills and creativity with trusted content from PBS Kids.

 

Paws to Read

Age Level: School Age Kids

School-aged children who are beginning or reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It’s a great way to improve a child’s reading skills and self-confidence! Participants may sign up for a 15-minute session online, by visiting the Wayne Branch, or by calling 317-275-4530, ext. 5.

 

Children’s Craft Club

Age Level: School Age Kids

This is a school age program for children to come in and learn how to make new crafts every month! Creations can be taken home after the meeting is over. Younger children may need assistance from parents. Program occurs every 2nd Friday of the month. Registration is required!

 

Thinking Money for Kids

Age Level: School Age Kids

Learn about money- earning, spending, sharing, and budgeting- through interactive games. Create your own farm, learn about pet adoption, or become a party planner! Play games while becoming a financial whiz.

 

Teen Dungeons and Dragons

Age Level: Families & Teens

Teens and families are welcome to join us. If you have never played before and want to learn, we will teach you. If you do not have supplies, we have supplies like dice, premade characters, and even figures you can use. You can even check out a User Manual from the library!

 

Swiftly Strung Beading Workshop

Age Level: Teens, School-Age Kids, Adults

Are you a Taylor Swift Fan? We are! Join us for a fun-filled beading workshop where fans of all ages can create beaded friendship bracelets featuring their favorite song lyrics. Ages 8-Adult. Limit 2 bracelets per person while supplies last.

Adult Book Discussion at Wayne- First Monday Book Club

The book to be discussed is “Code Name Saphire” by Pam Jenoff. Adults are invited to this monthly book discussion program, which is free and open to everyone!
