Dear All,
One of the smaller parks in our district, Faculty Park, needs a little TLC. On October 20th (Saturday) from 10 a.m. – noon we will have a Community Work Day. We could use volunteers. Faculty Park is located on W. 34th Street east of High School Road and east of the Elementary School on Ashway Drive (6051 W. 34th Street). Please meet in the parking lot.
We will be sprucing up the playground and the area around Faculty Park. The playground needs some weeding, raking, and the benches and wood around it need painting. The sidewalk needs edged in front, brush needs to be cut back from the foot bridge that connects the park to the school next door and on the other side to the neighborhood to the park’s east. There is some litter that needs picked up, but really this park is kept pretty clean by those who use it, it just need some general maintenance.
Looking ahead at the forecast it looks as if it will be a really nice fall day and an excellent time to be outside. Hope many of you will want to join us that day and help make this park look a little nicer for those who use it and inviting to families to come and enjoy. Bring any tools you think you may want to use (edger, weed eater, trimmers, rakes, etc.) as most people do like to use tools they are familiar with and our supply is limited.
If you would help me spread the word about this Community Work Day at Faculty Park I would really appreciate it, especially to those who live or go to church around the area. Attached are two flyers that may be forwarded or printed off and distributed. One has less color in order to make it “printer friendly”.
