City of Indianapolis celebrates Winter Weather Preparedness Week
INDIANAPOLIS – Mayor Joe Hogsett has proclaimed November 11 – 17 Winter Weather Preparedness Week in the city of Indianapolis, and is encouraging residents to prepare for colder temperatures and winter weather events.
“With snow and cold temperatures in the forecast, it is important for residents to be prepared and stay informed,” said Mayor Hogsett. “City agencies are ready to provide critical services tonight and throughout the season. We ask residents to be weather aware, stay engaged with City agencies, and take steps to stay safe so that all in our community may enjoy the winter season.”
The City of Indianapolis will celebrate Winter Weather Preparedness Week by highlighting the efforts of a different City agency each day and offering preparedness tips for community members. Indianapolis residents are encouraged to follow City agencies on social media for service updates and safety information all season long.

Winter Weather Preparedness Week 2018 runs from November 11-17. It is part of the National Weather Service’s statewide campaign to educate residents on the best ways to prepare for and stay safe in winter hazards. More information can be found here.
