What are you doing Sunday afternoon?

Dear All,

What are you doing Sunday afternoon?  We would love to have you join us as we clean up along the west side of Dandy Trail from 46th Street to 38th Street.  A terrific way to get outside and not only get some exercise, but do something for our community.  We will be meeting at 1 p.m. and working until around 2:30 p.m.  After finishing you may join some of us as a group at Rick’s Boatyard for a late lunch.  Lunch is on your own.  We will be finished in plenty of time for you to go out for some St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, to spend time relaxing, or enjoy other things you may want to do.

We will meet in the parking lot north of Rick’s Boatyard and just south of the fence for the boat storage on Dandy Trail at 1:00 p.m.  I will bring trash grabbers, gloves, and bags.  If you have any of your own supplies you like to use, feel free to bring them.  From that location we can go in both directions and get this area that is in need of some work cleaned up.

St. Patrick’s Day Cleanup

Sunday, March 17th

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Dandy Trail – meet in parking lot north of Rick’s Boatyard, just south of the boats

Trash bags, trash reachers, and gloves will be provided.

Eagle Creek Park Manager Brittany Davis and I have gotten together and planned our Great Indy Cleanup for the Causeway west to Raceway Road along 56th Street on April 6th.  Please see the attached flyer for information on it.  We would love to have you at both events!

Also, if your neighborhood, church, business, scouts, or any other organization would be interested in having your own Great Indy Cleanup go to www.greatindycleanup.com for more information.  They even have information on how to plan, cleanup tips, and information about trash.  You may sign up on their web site or contact Gerardo Ruiz Tovar by email at gruiztovar@kibi.org or call 317-264-7555 extension 130.  The official Saturday that our area is assigned is April 13th, but you are not limited to that day.  Pick a day that works best for you and your group.  The goal here is to get as many cleanups as possible accomplished this spring.  Please let me know about any cleanups in our district and I will be glad to help as my schedule allows.  Let’s work together to make District 6 and our area the cleanest in Marion County!

Hope to see many of you on Sunday!  By working together we can truly make a difference.  Please feel free to pass this information on to others who may be interested in improving our community.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry

City-County Councillor District 6
