Spring is another wonderful time at Eagle Creek Park

Dear All,

Spring is another wonderful time at Eagle Creek Park and every day is a new adventure as wildflowers bloom, trees blossom, and leaves are getting larger each day.  There are many activities going on during May from programs for the very young, who are just learning about the joys of nature, to adults who want to keep learning an appreciation for our world close to home.  Take a look at the attached calendar and see what is offered this month that would appeal to you.  Take note that the Earth Discovery Center (EDC), the Ornithology Center (OC), and the Eagle Creek Park Office are closed on both May 7th and May 27th.  The park will still be open.

This month’s Volunteer Coffee Talk is one that those interested in older homes and buildings won’t want to miss!  The topic is “The Histories of Homes in Eagle Creek Park”.  You will learn about the histories of the existing buildings with photos from the past and a virtual tour of the homes that were built before the Eagle Creek Park and reservoir that we know today was here.  This program is on Wednesday, May 1st, starting at 8:30 a.m. in the Earth Discovery Center (EDC).  See the attached flyer for more information.

Hope you will visit our terrific park soon.  I may see you at one or more of their programs.  Please feel free to forward this information on to others who may be interested – not only in our District 6, but throughout the county and area, who would appreciate the beauty, programs, and everything else that Eagle Creek Park has to offer.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry

City-County Councillor District 6
