Flap-Jacks 5k

Dear All,

It is not too late to sign up for the 4th Annual Flap-Jacks 5K. This year it is being held on August 3rd starting at 8 a.m. from Ben Davis High School. This is a great race with awards given at the end along with Flap-Jacks pancakes that have been cooked by the Wayne Township Firefighters. The money raised from this 5K will go to help with the Far West B&O Trail, which will connect where it currently ends at Raceway Road from Hendricks County to Speedway.

As many of you are probably aware a grant was recently awarded to Speedway Trails to take the B&O Trail west from Speedway to almost Girls School Road. This will include a bridge over Eagle Creek (between 10th Street and 21st Street by the old Westwood Country Club property). This was a huge grant and with the matching funds that they have will be quite an asset. We are hoping for another grant to complete the trail west in Marion County. The brochure that is attached tells a little more about the funds raised.

Check over the attached brochure for information how to register and price (do so by Monday and get a break in price), award breakdown, and the various Event Sponsors for this year’s Flap-Jacks 5K. Hope those who enjoy doing 5K’s will come out that day to help support the B&O Trail. I’ll see those who participate there and be cheering you on!

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
