Dear All,
This is a reminder about the C.R.A.S.E. (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) presentation by Northwest District’s Tim Blackwell and Madeline Green on Wednesday, August 21st, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Girls Scouts of Central Indiana (Camp Dellwood) located 2301 N. Girls School Road (just north of 21st Street on the east side of Girls School Road). This informal presentation helps to prepare civilians in the event of an attack and response options until the police arrive on the scene. We have heard about some of these horrible situations taking place lately and threats of others. This is a very educational program that helps us understand what our options are in case we are ever involved in something as terrible as these are. While many of you have seen this before, it is like the fire and tornado drills we have all practiced during our lives, you can always benefit from seeing it again and learning more. We all hope that we never have to experience any emergency, but being prepared and having knowledge of what to do is always extremely helpful. Hope to see many of you on Wednesday. If you are planning on attending, please RSVP to Officer Madeline Green at madeline.green@indy.gov if you have not done so already. This helps them have an idea of how many chairs to set up in the room and the number of any handouts they may have to distribute. Attached and below is more information on the program. Remember, this is a free program that IMPD puts on. I am glad that they were able so schedule it for us at this time.

Another event that you may be interested in is “Ice Cream With a Cop”. Many of you have expressed that you would like to attend “Coffee With a Cop”, but the morning time of day does not work well for you. This month they are doing “Ice Cream With a Cop” in the evening from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20th, at Neveria y Tamales Alpha which is located 2802 Lafayette Road. This is a great chance to talk one-on-one with the officers and our Northwest District Commander Lorenzo Lewis. I have attached the flyer that gives more information on this as well.
