Labor Day Clean Up

Dear All,

Monday is Labor Day and a couple of us thought this would be a great time to give back to the community by working a while during the morning on making District 6 a little bit cleaner.  We will be meeting at 9 a.m. in the “strip mall” (Boathouse Grill) at 56th and High School Road and work until around 10:30.  Since the area under the bridge has been swept recently by DPW, I felt it was a great time to work from I – 465 to Lafayette Road on the park side of 56th Street.  If there are enough who show up we may do additional picking up west of I – 465.  I will provide the trash grabbers, bags, and gloves.  Many of us now are using buckets to put the trash in first before putting in the bag.  If you have a bucket you wish to bring to do that, that would be great as I do not have extra buckets.

We hope that you will be able to join us on Monday.  The weather looks great and you will be done before lunch with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day.  Please forward this to others who may be interesting in sprucing up the area and helping to make a little part of our City look better.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry

City-County Councillor District 6
