Dear All,
Eagle Creek Park is partnering with me to do a “Mitten, Glove, Hat, and Sock” drive to help children in our area schools who may be catching the bus, walking to school, or playing outside at recess without gloves, mittens, hats, or socks to help keep them warm this winter. Donations of these items will be collected at both the 56th Street and 71st Street Gatehouses to Eagle Creek Park as well as the Earth Discovery Center. You do not have to go into the park to drop off items. We will be collecting them through December 31st and I will take them to our area schools then as soon as they get back from Christmas Break when the weather is cold. The staff and teachers will be able to distribute these then to those who need them the most. I hope that you will donate to this and be generous with the needed items. It sure will help some boys and girls keep warm this winter when outside. Please see the attached flyer and feel free to forward it, print it and hang it up at your workplace or other bulletin boards, or distribute it by other means. Working together we can make a difference for a child in need.
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
