Major Sporting Events

Dear All,

The next “Twenty in 20” is out – and what is it about?  Major Sporting Events coming to Indiana.  When talking with folks from other states, and even other countries, and you tell them you are from Indiana, what do they automatically mention about our state – some of our terrific sporting events!  Be it auto racing with the Indianapolis 500 (104th race this year) or the NHRA drag racing (66 years), people know us for these events worldwide.  What else comes to mind – basketball!  Be it the pros playing here in Indianapolis to the many college games and tournaments not only in the Circle City, but throughout the state (and don’t forget about our high school teams, which are not mentioned in the 20 in 20), we are truly a basketball state!  Then we can move on to football and again must recognize our pros and colleges and the great games that are played in our state – and some of the rivals among schools that have gone on for decades.  There are other sports that involve balls that are big in Indiana, and we cannot forget our national past time of baseball.  While we don’t have a major league team, our minor league teams and others certainly do please the crowds in some great newer stadiums to some historic ones that you see on the silver screen.  Don’t forget about golf and soccer.  Other sports that are highlighted including hockey, the Special Olympics, the Diving Team Trials for the 2020 Olympics, and on the water with the Madison Regatta.  A great variety and something for everyone.

These events happen throughout the year, and with ball games following a favorite team can be enjoyed throughout an entire season.  To learn more about the “20 in 20 Major Sporting Events Coming to Indiana” see below and click on the link to read about them all.
