“Spur of the Moment” clean-up!

Dear All,

With the weather like it has been lately, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a “Spur of the Moment” clean-up! This will be on Sunday, March 7th, from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. along 56th Street and Reed Road. We will be meeting in the Mayor’s Gardens Parking Lot (located south of 56th Street off of Reed Road) and I will have trash bags, gloves, along with reachers and some buckets to borrow. Things will be laid out and spaced for social distancing. Please do wear masks when we are gathering and starting out.

This is the first group clean-up we have tried since our “Leap Year Clean-up” last year. I am looking forward to trying to schedule these again on a regular basis and working together to clean up areas on the westside.

Can’t make it on Sunday? The weather is beautiful, so what is stopping you from going out on your own and picking up a bag of trash or two near your home? We all know there is plenty out there and lots of locations around our parks, bridges, intersections, and roadways that can use the TLC that we can all provide. I do hope that if you cannot join us on Sunday that you will take some time over the next few days while the weather is bright and sunny and help make an area litter free.

Looking forward to seeing a nice group on Sunday and making a lot of progress along 56th Street and Reed Road in getting trash picked up.

Sincerely,

Janice McHenry
