As we near the 4th of July holiday many of you may be wondering when is it legal to set off fireworks in Marion County. There are specific dates and times that fireworks may be set off legally. Starting Tuesday, June 28th – Sunday, July 3rd the hours are 5:00 p.m. – 2 hours after sunset. Monday, July 4th the hours are 10:00 a.m. – Midnight. Tuesday, July 5th – Saturday, July 9th from 5:00 p.m. – 2 hours after sunset. The only other days fireworks are legal are December 31st and January 1st from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. See attached flyer for more information.
Remember that fireworks are non-emergency (311 from a cell or 317-327-3811 from a landline) calls. Do not call 911 unless there is a personal injury or a fire.
