Dear All,
It is hard to believe that May is only a day away. The spring flowers have bloomed, the redbuds are fading fast, the dogwood trees are beautiful, and the rest of the trees are lovely with their tiny leaves that are growing each day. What a wonderful time to get out and enjoy Eagle Creek Park, a Greenway Trail, other parks, your own yard, and just being outside. Attached are activities that are going on at Eagle Creek Park during the month of May. What a packed schedule they have to learn more about birds, raptors, and other nature related programs. Take in one of the programs or just go out and discover the marvels of nature in the Park on your own.
I have also attached a flyer that has information about the Kick-Off to a walking program that is going to be taking place at Northwestway Park (5253 W. 62nd Street) on Monday, May 2nd, at 6:00 p.m. This is being put on by Indy Parks and IMPD. See the flyer that tells you how to get more information about this great way to get out and exercise. From additional information I received from IMPD today the program runs from May 2nd – July 2nd and it is two times a day – 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It is also my understanding that there is a $5 registration fee, which I didn’t see on the flyer, but saw on what I received from IMPD. Northwestway does have a nice walking trail, so for some of you who like to walk or would like to start walking, this might be worth checking out.
Hope to see you at Eagle Creek Park or one of our other local Parks sometime soon!
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
