Dear All,
Attached is a flyer that lists some of the great musical and other events that are happening this summer in various parks around the City. While most of the events are in June, July, and August, there are a few that are starting during May, so I wanted to get this out now.
Note that “In Concert With Nature” starts on June 1st at Eagle Creek Park and runs every other Wednesday though August and that “Jazz on the Point” starts June 8th, running the other Wednesdays through August. What a nice, relaxing way to spend a summer evening enjoying the music and the beauty of the surroundings.
There is no better place to be than Garfield Park on June 22nd with the Indianapolis Symphony and Fireworks. This certainly is better than dealing with the crowds and traffic at Symphony on the Prairie for their Patriotic Concert with fireworks! Mark you calendar now for this great event. And if you have not been to anything at Garfield Park’s sunken gardens, this is well worth another trip, as the gardens are lovely, but the fountains are really wonderful to watch.
I could go on about some of the other events, but I’ll stop here and let you look over the flyer yourself and check out more information about what you are interested in at www.indy.gov/concerts. The best thing about almost all of these Concerts is that they are FREE (Eagle Creek Park does charge their $5 gate fee, but if you have a pass, that is free to you as well.)! Save this flyer for future reference and please feel free to forward it on to others who may be interested, they don’t need to live in our district. I hope you will be able to get out often and enjoy some terrific music under the stars this summer in one or several of our Indy Parks.
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
