Dear All,
Our Northwest District IMPD is hosting three events during the month of March that I wanted to make sure you were all aware. Below is some information about the three events and the flyers are attached with more details.
1.) Coffee with a Cop – Tuesday, March 6th from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the White Castle located on the corner of 16th Street and Illinois Street. While I know this is not very close for us, hopefully some will be able to stop by, especially those of you who may work downtown or near downtown, and say “Hello”. Coffee with a Cop is always a great time to talk one on one with many of the officers and the Commander.
2.) Task Force Meeting – Wednesday, March 7th from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Northwest District Headquarters located 3821 Industrial Blvd. (north of 38th Street just east of Lafayette Road). The IMPD Bomb Squad will be discussing their duties and demonstrating some of their specialized equipment. This should be especially interesting and informative.
3.) Personal Safety and Awareness Seminar – Thursday, March 15th starting at 6:30 at Purpose of Life Ministries located 3705 W. Kessler Blvd. N. Drive (southeast corner of 38th Street and Kessler Blvd.). Officer Jeff Patterson, Police Defensive Tactics Instructor, will be doing the presentation. This is the same seminar that was held in January at The Blended Church that many of you were able to attend. If you did not get to attend in January, here is another chance. From the feed back that I received, those that attended felt it was very worthwhile. This is something that we all can gain knowledge from attending.
Hopefully many of you will be able to attend one or more of these events. Please help spread the word to others who may be interested as well. It is great that IMPD Northwest District provides these opportunities for us to learn more about public safety, their jobs, and get to know them better.
