Dear All,
Many of you remember the West Side Chamber’s Job Fair-Aganza that had been an annual event for several years. Last year the job fair was canceled due to Covid-19 and the restrictions in place. The ones of us who have worked on bringing this to the community from the beginning were not about to give up. Working mostly by Zoom we have now partnered with Indiana Wesleyan University for a location (6325 Digital Way) and have worked out the logistics of being able to still do this in a Covid world.
The Job Fair-Aganza will be held on Friday, April 16th, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Indiana Wesleyan University located in Pike Township at 6325 Digital Way. This job fair will be a lot different than in the past as there will be a limitation of 40 businesses participating and reservations will be required with specific time slots for attendees seeking jobs. Even with the changes we are having to make this year we think this will still be a great opportunity for businesses to man a table and talk with potential employees of all ages and various experiences in one place. If you are part of of business or know of a business that would like to participate contact Douglas Coats at pike.k12.in.us before March 1st. There are also sponsorship opportunities for businesses and Mr. Coats can give you more information about that. Make sure if you are a business and interested in participating that you contact Mr. Coats as soon as possible as spots are filling up quickly.
Information will be available for those seeking a job at a later date and how you may register for a time slot. Remember that participates will not be able to just drop in as in the past, registration will be required.
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
