Dear All,
“National Night Out Against Crime” is just around the corner and it is time to start thinking about having an event in your neighborhood or block. This year it will be on Tuesday, August 3rd. While last year we could not have group gatherings and celebrate in the ways we had in the past, now would be a great time to get together with our neighbors, have an event, and invite our law enforcement out into our community to get to know each other better.
In the past I know that the neighborhoods in our area have had cookouts, pitch-ins, ice cream socials, desserts, cookies, pizza, and other activities. Time to be creative, but it can be as simple or more elaborate as you and your neighborhood want. I have attached an information sheet that tells more about “National Night Out Against Crime” and also the registration sheet to be filled out and returned to Kim Taylor at our IMPD Northwest District office. Her contact info is on the form. By registering with our IMPD Northwest District they will know the time and place of your event and can put it on their schedule to come by for a visit.
I do hope that many of the neighborhoods throughout the Northwest District will participate this year’s “National Night Out Against Crime”. Make sure you register your event with Kim Taylor so she can let the officers know of your event, time, and location in order for them to stop by.
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
