Dear All,
This weekend promises to have some great weather! I am sure you are like me and have noticed the amount of trash that has been thrown out along our roadways and other areas. With the weather that is predicted, I thought it would be a great time for a group cleanup. Although some of our areas we spend a lot of time picking up trash still have water standing or a lot of mud, I think the area by the boat ramps and along Dandy Trail between 46th Street and 38th Street might be a terrific place to get out and make a difference. I know there is a lot of trash in certain areas along there and it would really make a difference before the boaters start coming out.
How about meeting in the parking lot north of Rick’s Boatyard, and next to the fence for the boats at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6th? Depending on how many of us there are will determine how much of that area we can get done – so I do hope that we will have a good turnout and can get the entire stretch along there and by the shelter house. I’ll bring trash bags, gloves, grabbers, and some buckets – but feel free to bring your own supplies that you like to work with. If you can give an hour or two of your time we will make a truly noticeable difference.
Can’t make it on Sunday? Hope I’ve inspired you to get out for a little while over the next couple of days and pick up a bag or two of trash in another area close to you. There certainly is plenty of areas that need some TLC, and every bag does make a difference!
Hope to see many of you on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot north of Rick’s Boatyard!
Sincerely,
Janice McHenry
