On Saturday, November 8th, four of the bridges that go over I-465 on the far west side of Indianapolis had trash and other debris picked up, weeds and grass pulled from the cracks when possible, and even sweeping of sand and gravel in order to give them a “fall cleaning”. Councillor McHenry, along with help from a constituent, organized this cleanup, which they hope to have as a yearly event. As people started arriving to help at 56th Street, several paused for the camera before starting to work.
Two volunteers are busy picking up trash and assorted debris along the exit ramp on 56th Street. In all there were 35 people who came out to help that day.
“Look what we found!” appears to have been said as a couple of volunteers show the camera what they are picking up.
It wasn’t just about trash, as Councillor McHenry and a volunteer are pulling grass and weeds from the cracks on 46th Street.
