With Thanksgiving almost here and Christmas fast approaching, I thought I would share with you what I received today from Downtown Indy. It lists events that are going on not only this week, but special events t that will be continuing throughout the season at the Children’s Museum, the Eiteljorg Museum, the History Center, Indianapolis Museum of Art, as well as other places. Don’t forget about the Circle of Lights on
Friday, November 28th (the day after Thanksgiving). Hope you and your family will be able to enjoy some of these special events that will be happening.

CIRCLE OF LIGHTS PREVIEW

Tune in to RTV- 6 Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. to see this year’s performers announced during the Circle of Lights® Talent Search program and watch again Nov. 27. The Circle of Lights® presented by the Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW #481 takes place Friday, Nov. 28. Special guests include Josh Kaufman and performers from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s IPL Yuletide Celebration.

CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATING CONTEST: GEORGIA STREET

Businesses wanted: sponsor a tree for the second annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest during City Sidewalks presented by BMO Harris Bank. Get creative with décor, color schemes and themes. The public will vote for their favorite tree Dec. 19 & 20 and the winner receives a FREE Georgia Street event rental. Download the Tree Decorating Contest Form for more details.

NEW FESTIVAL OF TREES AT INDIANA HISTORY CENTER

Celebrate the holidays at the History Center’s first Festival of Trees, open Nov. 22 – Jan. 3. Not only will you step back in time, but you’ll step into a gorgeous tree-filled winter wonderland featuring 25 holiday trees. Each tree has a unique theme like “Home for the Holidays, “Night Before Christmas” and “Santa’s Workshop.”

SEND SANTA A LETTER

Send a letter through Santa’s Mailbox on the Circle! Each year, this holiday mailbox is placed for children of all ages to drop off their letters addressed to Santa. Santa himself will personally answer each letter with a return address.
