During our Public Works Committee Meeting last week, Director Lori Miser gave us an information sheet during her Director’s Report. This sheet (Infrastructure Info from Director’s Report) gives a lot of facts about the number of miles of streets, thoroughfares, and residential miles that are in the city, number of traffic signals, miles of sidewalks, our infrastructure needs, and the amount we have to spend each year. I thought many of you would find this very informative.
It also has information about the new Street Light Process. All street light requests need to be directed to the Mayor’s Action Center. If you know of a place where you feel it is important to have a street light, please call the Mayor’s Action Center at 327 – 4MAC (327-4622). Remember that they are starting with 100 new street lights, but more will be added later. Let’s see if we cannot get some of the areas here on the west side that are in need of Street Lights on that list and hopefully some will receive these lights. I would encourage you to get others to call in the same location so there are more than one call to show the need. Also, if you would please let me know the location you have reported, I would appreciate it as well. Do call in your areas of concern to the Mayor’s Action Center at 327-4MAC as soon as possible.
